This is a frame made as a gift for some fellow scuba diving
friends of ours. I call it “See you
underwater”. The fun part was that I
pulled together leftover tiles, many of which came from a ‘grab bag’ purchased
from a while ago. I typically do random shaped
broken tile mosaics, but I enjoyed the square shaped approach because the color
transition made it interesting to create.
About the frame base – this was purchased from TJMaxx . Most of the frames I buy for this purpose, I
find in the clearance section of these types of stores. As long as there is a flat surface to mosaic –
I could care less about strange colors, odd design, or damage/scratches.
